Path of
Letting Go
When Jesus made it clear to his disciples that he would suffer
(Mt. 16:21-27), Peter rebuked Jesus for that is not how Peter thought it should happen. Peter was sure of the path that Jesus would take, but when God calls us, we never know what the journey entails – we think we do, but we really don’t. So it is with motherhood!
Familiar to all is the path of letting go and walking the path God sets out for us. Only thing sure is the One who walks along with us. Mothers experience the daily letting go of what we are sure of, trusting in what is not seen, knowing that God is with us. When the big yellow bus seems so big and so fearful, a mother stands on the corner with tears in her eyes, trusting in the new school year ahead, letting go of the familiar and trusting in God’s care of her child(ren).
The Gospel message of letting go is lived by mothers every day!
The Ministry of Mothers Sharing empowers women to discover their God given value, dignity, giftedness and call to holiness for themselves, their families, and their communities.
Ministry of Mothers Sharing...
- gathers mothers together to form a network of mutual spiritual support.
- provides group experience of learning, praying and ministering to each other.
- introduces mothers to opportunities for personal and spiritual growth in a faith sharing group.
- increases communication skills and the use of prayer rituals in the home.
