MINISTRY OF MOTHERS SHARING

Ongoing Support for MOMS Groups
Continuing the Journey
Many MOMS groups have started parish-wide book studies that help women express
their faith. Some of the favorite books being used are pictured below.
From A Mother's Heart
Edited by Theresa Difato
Twenty-seven mothers share their stories of the joys and challenges
of motherhood from a faith perspective. "Our group sharing brought God's
presence back into my life. These stories are so real and helped us relive the
joys and share the sorrows that needed to be healed. I began to trust that God
really is faithful, here and now."
St. Catherine's Parish, Algonac, Michigan
Mary's Song
by Mary Catherine Nolan, O.P.
MOMS groups have used Mary's Song for study groups, retreats,
and special series dedicated to understanding the Hebrew background of Mary's
prayer. The Magnificat has become a model for women on how to pray today. Good
for private or group use.
My Soul Magnifies the Lord
A Scriptural Journey with Mary
by Jeanne Kun
This unique journal takes you through ten important gospel scenes in the life of Mary. Pertinent commentary by Marian writers will enhance your encounter with Mary, providing you with questions for journaling and sharing with others. Great for personal reflection or group discussion.
"We want to continue the journey!"
On the Journey Retreats
Introducing a NEW series of two and three hour retreats. MOMS leaders can offer these to all in your parish.
This series will…
- Empower women to continue their spiritual growth through prayer, journaling, and discussion.
- Attract women who have not experienced the MOMS 8-week journey.
1. Choice-making
Making healthy, Christ-centered choices is a process of slowing down, turning to God and learning how to listen. This three hour retreat helps mothers reflect on the four steps to making adult choices and discerning between the distractions and healthy choices in our lives.
2. Emptying Your Cup:
Finding Peace through Letting Go
This three-hour retreat will provide sacred time and space for quiet reflection, prayer rituals and discussion on what we need to let go of
in our lives so we have room to "fill our cup" with God's unconditional love.
Retreat Journals and Facilitator Guides

Books for Ongoing MOMS Groups
After the eight-week journal session, many MOMS groups offer book studies welcoming all women in their parish. Here is a list of books that have been successful in other parishes. These books are popular for small and large groups because they have reflective questions and scripture references..
