SISTER MARY LOU
Seeking God in daily life through prayer, work, community and service to God’s people
I am Sister Mary Lou Dummer, Sub-Prioress. I share the Prioress’ responsibility for leadership and governance of the Monastic Community. I serve as an ex-officio member of the Leadership Team, Monastic Council and Board of Directors. I am Director of the initial formation and on-going formation of Oblates and I also supervise the Liturgy and Dietary departments. I serve on the Benedictine Center Advisory Committee.
In the past I have served as an Elementary School teacher and principal.
After receiving an MA in Theology and Liturgy I spent several years as Director of Liturgy in parishes and at the Monastery.
I am grateful for my Benedictine Monastic vocation of seeking God in daily life through prayer, work, community and service to God’s people.
THE RULE OF ST.BENEDICT
THE RULE OF ST. BENEDICT
The Rule of St. Benedict serves as an invitation to open our hearts to God. It summons us to recognize our responsibility in the world and the proper use of resources. Above all, the Rule reminds us of the fundamental value of living our lives in search and service of God, preferring nothing to the love of Christ.
