Browsing a bookstore while on a retreat I found the Work of God (A Benedictine Morning & Evening Prayer Book). In this book was information on Benedictines and Oblates. Praying from this Work of God led me to investigate Benedictine Spirituality, and the Lay response to living the Rule of Benedict as an Oblate. While searching for a local monastery I found St Paul’s Monastery. I realized that many of the sisters had taught me at St. Anne’s School in Minneapolis. I had found my home. Since then, my spirituality has grown tremendously as I learn and continue to study the Rule of Benedict. The Rule gives me a structure for my life and has taught me to live in moderation and balance. My life has never been the same since I became an Oblate 12 years ago.
