Volunteering at St. Paul's Monastery and the Benedictine Center offers individuals a unique opportunity to engage deeply with the Monastic community, enrich their spiritual lives, and contribute meaningfully to vital ministries. Rooted in the Rule of St. Benedict, which emphasizes hospitality and service, the Monastery thrives on the dedication of its volunteers. Each year, over 50 volunteers contribute more than 2,500 hours, playing an integral role in the Monastery's spiritual outreach and mission to all seekers in our local church.
The Impact of Service
Volunteers at St. Paul's Monastery engage in a variety of roles that support both the Monastery and the broader community. From assisting in daily ministry of welcome to participating in special events, their contributions are invaluable. For instance, volunteers welcome guests and retreat groups, bring joy to our Sisters in healthcare by coordinating activities, support many activities and events throughout the year, and provide essential administrative support. Their efforts ensure that the Monastery remains a welcoming space for all who seek spiritual growth and solace.

The Benedictine Center, a ministry of the Monastery, serves as a threshold between the Monastery and the wider world. Staff and volunteers alike embody the role of Benedict's porter, welcoming each guest with warmth and love. This hospitality creates an environment where individuals can explore their spirituality, participate in retreats, and engage in meaningful conversations.
